ICS Class of 2009 Claymobile Project Featured at Philadelphia Airport

Last year, ICS’s Class of 2009 worked with Claymobile Teaching Artist Becky Wiesner and ICS Art Teacher Rachel Schaffran to create a 3-D mosaic sculpture based on Robert Indiana’s iconic “LOVE” sculpture that famously adorns Philadelphia’s Love Park. Students were challenged to design a layout for the sentence “I love (or heart) art”. The project is part of an exhibit entitled Wonderkammer: Cabinets of Wonder, Four Projects by The Claymobile, Philadelphia and will be on view at the Philadelphia Airport from March 29 until August 31, 2010 in Terminal A.

This project was made possible through the combined efforts of The Clay Studio, Independence Charter School and the Philadelphia Arts and Education Partnership. The Dolfinger-McMahon Foundation provided additional funding for installation.
