SEPTA Strike

Update, November 7: The SEPTA strike has ended. Septa will be restoring service gradually throughout the day today.

November 1, 2016

Hello ICS Parents & Families –

SEPTA services continue to be suspended due to the strike.

A couple of items for our students and families who use SEPTA:

  • ICS will work with students who arrive late. Students who usually use SEPTA and arrive late will not be marked late.
  • Please keep us updated on your child’s attendance.
  • We will continue to monitor the situation. In the event of an extended strike, ICS will assist students & families in what ways we can, such as facilitating communication about carpooling options.
  • We will update everyone with more information as necessary.
  • Be safe!

Take care,
CEO Tom

Message from the School District of Philadelphia’s Charter School Office

At 12:00 Midnight on October 31, 2016 the contract between SEPTA and the Transport Workers Union Local 234 expired.  SEPTA City Transit service is now suspended until further notice.

The services that are suspended include: Market-Frankford Line, Broad Street Line, ALL Trolley service, and ALL bus service.  Regional Rail, CCT/Paratransit, and the LUCY Loop will continue to operate.

All School District of Philadelphia schools, administrative offices, and support service facilities will remain open as scheduled.

Continue to monitor local news outlets, the District’s website, and SEPTA.org for updates. Ready Philadelphia, operated by the City’s Office of Emergency Management, will be providing text/e-mail alerts to registered users (info).
