Weekly News, 11/21

Hello families!

Here is some early news for a very short week.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a Dollar Dress Down. Funds will benefit the 6th grade.

There is no school Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday this week in observance of Thanksgiving. We wish everyone a long, restful weekend and we’ll see you back at school on Monday, 11/28!

There will be a Food Service Committee meeting on Friday, Dec. 2 at 9am. At meetings we review our drafts of menus, taste new products, and talk about likes/dislikes of items offered in the cafeteria, and more. You are welcome to attend! RSVP to M. Neyza.

Kindergarten families, please be sure that you submit your December lunch orders to Neyza as soon as possible. Due to the Thanksgiving break, she has less time than usual to get your orders ready for the month, so please do not wait until the last minute.

Head lice are still making the rounds at ICS, especially in 1st and 2nd grades. All families should make a habit of checking their children (and adults!) once each week in order to catch and treat cases quickly and thoroughly. For some good lice info and treatment options you can refer back to the News archives.

It’s Hakuna Matata time at ICS…especially for students in grades 5 thru 8!

We are proud to introduce The Lion King, Jr., as the 2017 ICS Musical! If you would like to learn more about the play, the time commitment, the ICS theatre program, meet the new director, and play some theatre games, then please sign up and join us for a Play Day. All the information you need to know plus the participation form that you MUST turn in by Monday, 11/28 can be found on the info packet here. Student can also pick a paper copy up from their advisory teacher. Any questions? Feel free to contact Tr. Susan at susanb@icscharter.com.
