We are 31% of the way to our goal thanks to 50 donors so far. Thank you! The deadline to give points is March 15, and we must reach 100% by the deadline!

The Playworks Junior Coaches are doing a service project to help the SPCA. The SPCA is a no-kill animal shelter. The Junior Coaches have placed boxes on each floor for you to bring old towels, blankets, and toys for the animals. We will be collecting items until Feb 3rd. We appreciate anything you can give. THANKS!

Don’t forget to purchase your Super Bowl Basket raffle tickets by the February 1 deadline. If you need more tickets, you can pick them up in the front office or print them here. Anyone can purchase a raffle ticket, so share them with friends & family!

Friday is Sweet Treat Friday! Purchase a treat for $1 at dismissal on Friday to support this year’s Take Flight travelers. We’ll have two tables set up: one in the play yard and one on Naudain Street. End your week with something sweet! THANK YOU!

Date Night for You…Pajama Party at ICS for your kids!

Friday, February 10, 2015, 5:00-8:30pm

Looking for something fun to do without the kiddies? Plan on coming to the Take Flight fundraising happy hour at Ambrosia Kitchen! There’s an open bar from 5:30 to 7:30 and yummy snacks to enjoy, all for only $50.00 per person (with discounted drinks after 7:30)!

Ambrosia Kitchen is located at 114 Market Street (2nd floor above the Irish Pol restaurant)

Or, if you prefer, drop off your children and do your own thing! Put on their “jammies” and drop your kids at ICS for a fun evening of games, arts & crafts, pizza dinner, snacks, and movies. You’ll be free to enjoy some alone time, sip an adult beverage and canoodle with your sweetie. We’ve got you covered! $20 per child, ages 3 years-4th grade. Pizza dinner is included! All responses and payments must be received by February 7 so we are properly staffed. Look out for a flyer with more info on PJ party payment/registration.

Community Resources

Immigrant Student Town Hall – On January 24th, City Council, the School District of Philadelphia,  the Faculty and Staff Federation of Community College of Philadelphia,The Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition (PICC), and the United Voices for Philadelphia will host a Town Hall to discuss the needs of immigrant students as well as budget priorities to support these communities. The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia offers golf and life-skills programs to students at low or no cost. Check out their spring programs here.

There is a FREE Creative Writing Program starting Saturday, February 4th for ages 9-13.
