How do you create global citizens?
By helping them Take Flight!
The countdown to Take Flight for our 7th grade travelers has begun. In just a little over a month, 32 ICS global citizens will be heading to Ecuador and Colombia for a week of service learning and cultural exchange.
You can be a part of their journey by supporting the Take Flight Travel Fund. There are many fun opportunities to contribute to the cause this month. See below, and find the one that fits your interests best!
Friday, February 10 – Date Night: Ambrosia Kitchen Happy Hour & ICS PJ Party
Enjoy a happy hour with drinks and light dinner at Ambrosia Kitchen, while your kids are taken care of at the ICS PJ Party this Friday, February 10. Or take part in just one or the other, whatever works for your weekend plans!

Saturday, February 11 – Bikram Yoga
RSVP to Sarah Eisenstein to reserve your space!
Now through February 16 – Online Auction!
You won’t believe the great items and services up for auction online from fellow parents and friends of ICS.
Place your own bids and share widely with family and friends who love a good deal for a good cause!
Check out the items now and don’t miss out! The auction only runs through next Thursday at 8pm.
Saturday, February 25 – Get-Ready-for-Spring Clothing & Book Swap
- Saturday, February 25, 2017
- 10am – 1pm
- $20 suggested donation for all you can shop gently used books and women’s/children’s clothes!
Clean out those books and clothes you’ve grown out of and bring them to ICS on Saturday, February 25. Then, for a small donation, take home as many “new to you” books and clothes as you’d like!
If you just want to drop off clothes or books, we welcome your donations on Friday, 2/24 between 4-6pm or on Saturday during the swap. Please make sure that clothes are clean and that everything is in reasonably good condition (no stains, rips, etc.).
It’s also fine to come shop even if you don’t bring any clothes/books.
The parking lot will be open for parking and, if it’s not too cold or wet, kids can enjoy the playground with direct parent supervision.
All money raised will go to Take Flight. Leftover clothing will be sent to Schoola to keep earning money for ICS! Leftover books will be sent to local thrift shops.
And finally, if you’re not an event person but you want to support the cause, you can contribute via the Take Flight EdBacker campaign or via JustGive.org (choose Take Flight Travel Fund from the dropdown menu).
