Letter from the PTA

Hello Families,

As you all know, ICS has the best faculty and teachers, ever! They go above and beyond, not only teaching our children but also making them feel confident, special and able to achieve anything they put their minds to. I feel privileged to be a part of this amazing community and am sure you all do as well.  With that in mind, the staff Holiday Party will be held on Friday, December 15th, and as in the past the PTA will donate funds to be sure there is at least one drink for every teacher and some nibbles.

We are asking our families for donations of items or gift cards to be raffled off that evening to make the night a little more exciting. Things like Amazon, Target, or Starbucks gift cards, maybe a massage or a pedicure, a delicious bottle of wine or your favorite tequila! These are just a few ideas–anything is welcome.

We also offer up the opportunity to spread some joy through the written word. Whether you send in a handwritten note or an email, your kind thoughts will be shared that evening and posted in the front office for all to read (and to weep).

Both of these are wonderful ways for the community to show our teachers how much we appreciate all that they do, every day, year after year. Please send in or drop off your donations or staff notes to the front office in a sealed envelope marked ICS PTA Staff Holiday Party. If you have any questions, or wish to email words of kindness, please contact Tr. Susan at susanb@icscharter.com.

Thank you so much for your support!
Amy Urban Romaine
PTA President

Middle States Survey

Thanks to all parents who have already taken the time to fill out the survey for our Middle States Accreditation! As we are preparing for our 7-year re-accreditation visit in March, we are required to gather input from all stakeholders in various ways to support and validate our report.

If you find yourself with an extra 20 min. we would love to hear from you! Please click on this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MSA2017parent

Lice Alert!

Head lice popped up again in a couple lower school grades last week, so it’s a good idea for everyone to do lice checks at home if you haven’t done one recently. Ideally, lice checks should be built into your family’s routine, about once a week.
