Help our young engineers go to DC!

Last month Tr. Greg’s Intro to Engineering students won Pennsylvania Rookie School of the Year through the NEED Youth Awards, an Energy and Engineering competition that over 200 schools from all over the country take part in. The group is raising money to travel Washington DC for the National Finals of the NEED Youth Awards which happens June 22-25!

You can help them by:

  • Donating to their GoFundMe campaign (and sharing it)
  • Eating dinner at the Liberty Place Chipotle on June 4–a portion of every purchase will go to ICS if you mention you’re supporting us!

Emergency resources for families

Dear ICS Community,

We are gathering an emergency supply of gift cards to assist ICS families if/when they face a crisis.

If you would like to contribute a drug store or grocery store gift card to our supply (in whatever amount you can), please bring it to our front office in an envelope clearly marked “Counselor Anne”.

Thank you for your support!

Family Resources

Got seasonal allergies? Nurse Simone has put together a handy tip-sheet for recognizing and managing seasonal allergies. Talk to your doctor to find out what is recommended for your child, and be sure to check the pollen count so you know when your child will need medication!

FringeArts is casting 250 diverse movers for a group dance performance in front of the Art Museum. Read more about the opportunity here and see if it’s right for someone in your family!

SING Philadelphia is a summer choir camp for children ages 7-12 who love to sing. Camp tuition is $325 with a sliding scale ranging from $50 to $325 to ensure children have equitable access to SING Philadelphia, regardless of financial resources. Lunch can also be provided upon request.

This year’s camp runs from June 25-29. To learn more or to register, visit the website.

*Also, I did not have time this year to update a Summer Camp list for 2018, but last year’s list is still a great resource!

The Mexican cultural dinner fundraiser was so much fun and SO delicious! Thank you to the many ICS families who organized it and who donated and cooked the food from scratch! Wow! And the event raised over $1000 for the PTA–extra wow!
