PTA Fall Fest

- The annual Fall Fest is a great way to meet new families. There will be a moon bounce!
- Sign up to help out here!
- The annual clothes swap will also be held on this day. Bring in your gently used women’s & children’s clothing and accessories. A $20 donation will buy you all the clothes you can carry home!
Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 – October 15
Students and teachers in classrooms all over ICS will be studying and celebrating Hispanic American people, histories, arts, movements and more this month! (Thanks to 8th grader Maxwell Perlman for the poster above.)
Jefferson is offering a free Intro to Art Therapy workshop on Oct. 9 that could be useful for folks in many professions.
MVP360 RiseUp Basketball Camp is back! Jr. NBA is the official youth basketball participation program of the NBA. We are also USA Basketball Certified. This program is instructional and developmental. It is for boys and girls ages 8-13. The focus for ages 14-17 is skills development and USA Basketball 3 on 3 preparation.

Puentes de Salud (Bridges of Health) at 17th & South Sts. is a nonprofit organization that promotes the health and wellness of Philadelphia’s Latino immigrant population through high-quality health care, innovative educational programs, and community building.
Affordable beginning/intermediate violin, viola and cello classes are being offered to all interested 7 to 17 year-old students. The one-hour classes take place Wednesdays at 4:00 pm at Tenth Presbyterian Church, 1701 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA. The cost is $160 for 16 weeks. Philadelphia Young Playwrights Citywide Winners
The winners of the annual Playwright Festival are chosen from more than 700 submissions from students in 40 different schools. This year’s 1st place winner is 2018 graduate Lucy Palandro. Lucy will have her play produced and performed by real actors! 2018 graduates Geonni Gee and Gisella Dukes came in 2nd place in the festival and will have the opportunity to help in the production process of the 1st place winners.
