ICS News – 4/22

Hello ICS families,

3rd-8th graders will be jumping right into PSSA testing on Tuesday, April 23. As a reminder, the testing schedule is:

  • English Language Arts – April 23, 24, 25
  • Math – April 29, 30
  • Science (4th & 8th grades only) – May 2, 3

You can set your child up for success by helping them get good nights of sleep and arriving to school on time. If they are feeling anxious (about PSSAs or anything else), here’s one good article about how to offer support

Breakfast will be free for all students on ELA and Math testing days.

In case you missed it:

ICS West is currently conducting a CEO search. We encourage you to share the job description with your networks!

And if you just really love surveys…you’ll be THRILLED to learn it’s that time of year again when we need all ICS parents to start taking the School District’s annual family survey. The survey provides valuable feedback to ICS and to the District’s Office of Research and Evaluation, and our total participation has an impact on ICS’s annual School Progress Report scores.

You can explore the District’s past survey results here.

You can view our 17-18 Progress Report here.

Last year we achieved a record 48% family response rate on the survey, so naturally we must work together to reach 50% this year!

Be an early bird and take the survey now!

You just need your children’s student ID numbers to get started. I can email them to you if needed, just hit reply and ask!
