Dear ICS,
On Monday, September 12, 2022 ICS will shift to masking optional. However, masking will be required in the following cases:
- If a student or staff member is a close contact of someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 they must wear a mask for 10 days past exposure.
- If a student or staff member is returning to school after being diagnosed with COVID-19 they must wear a mask during days 6-10.
ICS will continue to monitor local and school-wide conditions to determine if any of our protocols should be changed and we will continue to lean on the guidance of PDPH which has successfully guided us through the last two years.
We highly recommend that each family make their decision carefully and thoughtfully, assessing their personal risks and risk tolerances. Members of our community, for various reasons, may choose to mask daily. Some may need more time to decide what is right for themselves or their family.
ICS supports all decisions during this transition and we recognize that this is a personal choice based on personal circumstances. We strongly support community members who choose to continue masking and expect every member of our community to support and respect these decisions without judgment or criticism.
